TREF (NO)

Therese Refvik aka Tref is a 27-year-old self-taught street artist from Stokka in Stavanger.

Art became a necessary therapy for Therese following the death of her mother in 2013. “When it happened, I had a huge need to express my feelings through art” she explains. “When I worked, I forgot time and place. The art became a necessary therapy for me.”

The starting point for her paintings is often a photo she has taken herself or sometimes finds online, from which she extracts details while creating four to five layer stencils using a mixture of cardboard and paper.

Her work can be seen around Stavanger and the Rogaland region, and has also attracted attention from the likes of Graffik Gallery in London, where Therese was invited to exhibit for the first time in 2015.
