ENER KONINGS (NO)
Ener Konings is a Norwegian street artist born in Bergen and now based in Kristiansand, south Norway.
As a teenager he became very interested in art but it was not until he got his first camera that he developed his passion for graffiti and urban art. He could often be found wandering the streets of his hometown while photographing tags and pieces of his local heroes. After following the scene and its development through the camera lens, he started creating his own art influenced by the techniques he’d become accustomed to seeing on the streets.
Over the last few years, Ener Konings has developed a visual iconography and language that aims to bring life to forgotten corners of the cityscape, and inspire the audience to see themselves in a wider social context. His artistic expression began more political but later evolved through his interest in classical portraiture and its juxtaposition with graffiti. Removing politics from his work, he instead draws parallels between human relationships and the finer details that shape our daily lives.
