OCTAVI SERRA (ES)
Born in Barcelona in 1990, Octavi Serra obtained a degree in Industrial Design from the Barcelona School of Design and Engineering (Elisava) and a Bachelor of Art from the Winchester School of Art in the University of Southampton before diving into a wide range of art and design related projects from illustration to public installations.
His practice is based on carrying out interventions in public spaces that challenge the viewers perception of reality and overarching systems of logic. Most of his works are based on visual metaphors transmitted through everyday physical objects; utilising their aesthetic and conceptual potential in order to subvert meaning and disrupt our passage through public space.
He is the Founder, Designer and Creative Director of the product design publisher Octàgon Design, which develops sustainable design projects made entirely from recycled materials.
